CU volleyball hosting tryout camp for high school players

Cumberland volleyball will host a tryout for high school players looking to play at the collegiate level Oct. 8 from 8:30-10 a.m. at the Dallas Floyd Recreation Center. Cumberland coach Kathy Slaughter and her staff will evaluate participants’ abilities during the 90-minute workout. Cost is $25 per player, includes a Cumberland t-shirt and is payable to day of the camp. CU baseball hosting prospect Showcase Nov. 6

Coach Woody Hunt and the Cumberland baseball program will host a prospect showcase Nov. 6 for grades 9-12 from noon-4 p.m. at Ernest L. Stockton Field-Woody Hunt Stadium. Players will take part in a pro-style workout along with pitching, fielding and hitting evaluation. The Prospect Showcase fee is $75 per player. The prospect showcase is exclusive to Cumberland baseball and players have the opportunity to earn scholarships for spots on the Phoenix roster. All participants will receive a Cumberland Baseball t-shirt while receiving personal attention from members of the Cumberland coaching staff and current CU players. Five players on the 2016-17 CU roster participated in last year’s showcase.
