Claudette B. Anderson

Mt. Carmel – Claudette B. Anderson, 84, of Mt. Carmel, TN passed away peacefully on September 4 after a graceful fight with Alzheimer’s.

Claudette was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County with the exception of the 4 years that she traveled to Kileen, Texas to be with her husband Donald as he served our nation in the US Army. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She was also a member of Fairview Chapter #80 of the Order of the Eastern Star where she served as a state representative to South Dakota and a Tennessee State Officer in the Grand Chapter of Tennessee. She was a former Mother Advisor for Church Hill Order of Rainbow Girls and traveled across the state with Donna and many girls as she loved them all dearly. In her younger days she was an assistant branch manager of United Securities Bank, later known as Tri Cities Bank. A 10 year survivor of breast cancer, she volunteered for the Children’s Miracle Network fundraisers for the NICU at Holston Valley Hospital. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid gardener, reader and especially a baker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas Worley and Bertha Marie Byington; her husband Donald Edward Anderson; her brother C. Raymond Byington and an infant brother. She was also preceded by an infant son, Edward Keith Anderson along with an infant daughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Renea Brody (Kirk) of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Griffin Brody of Charlotte, NC; Greer Brody of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Grace Brody of Nashville; 5 nieces and 5 nephews.

The family will receive friends Saturday, September 7, 2019 from 1 - 2 pm at Tri-Cities Funeral Home, Church Hill. Funeral services will follow at 2 pm with Rev. Mark Roberts officiating. The graveside service will follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or to Avalon Hospice of Kingsport at 4619 Fort Henry Dr, Kingsport, TN 37663 in memory of Claudette.
