On Thursday afternoon the Tennessee Department Health was reported seven confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in Hawkins County, as well as 71 negative tests.
During Wednesday’s regular meeting, the board approved an emergency ordinance for continuity of government, which will be in effect for the next 60 days.
Jamie Swift, infection prevention director at Ballad Health, said the system saw an increase of 18 cases in just the past 24 hours — its biggest jump in a 24-hour period to date.
